Obama's naive class warfare

No way Obama can be this fucking stupid and niave. No way. I know Obama knows who he is dealing with in these republicans. He knows they hate him and want to make him a one term president. He knows this. Yet he continues to act as if they are reasonable people with different political beliefs. How big of a wuss do you have to be, to continue to play nice with people out to destroy you? WTF? Obama's timidity is really starting to piss me off. Just once I'd like to see him get angry and call out these repubilcan fascists. Just once.

Obama cannot force them. It is in the power of Congress to vote to raise the debt ceiling and raise or lower taxes. How do you propose Obama FORCE them, he does not have the power alone to do it.

Obama has met with every leader of House an Senate, negotaited, and conducted many meetings on this issue. It is now up to the leadership in congress to do thier job.

It was in the power of the voters in 2010. Had Democrats voted in 2010, we would not be facing this stalemate now.

Only you can force it by voting!

If Obama wants to do that, he will have to make this case to the public, in press conferences, passionately and often. He will need to explain to the public that the consequences of a government default will be the result of Republicans desire to fellate tycoons. He will have to make it clear who the "bad guy" is.

Democrats always overestimate the general public's understanding of the issues in government. They don't bother to make their case, nor do they bother to refute the lies that Republicans are spewing in service of their cause.

And that is why they end up losing on fiscal matters.

I do not think this situation is as dire as most are claiming it to be.

The GOP may well be trying to use the debt ceiling as a lever to force Obama to concede to a whole litany of draconian cuts. And they may well be willing to allow the Full Faith and Credit of the US Government to go down the tubes, rather than risk Grover and Tea Party wrath. They may well be so enthralled to their real constituency, international corporate interests, that they are no longer even pretending to represent the American people any more.

3. Pflugerville city officials celebrated the opening of Austin Executive Airport on June 8 at 6012 Aviation Drive, Pflugerville. The airport, formerly known as Bird’s Nest Airport, is now open for corporate and private planes. Travis County Commissioner Ron Davis said it is expected to create 645 jobs within 10 years.

4. Fresh Donuts opened June 6 at 1920 Sam Bass Road, Ste. 900, Round Rock. The bakery serves donuts, kolaches, tacos, croissants, espresso and smoothies. It is open 5 a.m.–2 p.m. daily. 238-8818

5. Williamson County officials celebrated the grand opening of the new Quarry Splash Pad on June 10 at the Southwest Regional Park, 3005 CR 175, Leander. Water features include water cannons, waterfalls and water jets. There are two large pavilions, two birthday pavilions, restrooms and a concession stand located in the 2-acre park. 6. Souper Salad opened in June at The Shops at Tech Ridge at 12901 N. I-35, Ste. 1830, Austin. Souper Salad Inc. signed a franchise agreement with Pflugerville resident and real estate investor Denise Jordan to open the 3,800-square-foot restaurant, which features a variety of fresh-cut salads, homemade soups and baked breads served in a buffet format. www.soupersalad.com

7. Brenda Carrera opened Hair Central on May 2 at 3810 Gattis School Road, Ste. 104, Round Rock. The location was previously the site of Country Cuts. The salon offers hair cuts, colors, perms, highlights, low lights, hair feathers and conditioning treatments. 8. Sacred Heart Community Clinic held a dedication ceremony June 9 for its new permanent facility that opened in May. The free clinic, located on the St. William Catholic Church campus at 620 Round Rock West Drive, Round Rock, is run by a volunteer staff and treats children and adults Tuesdays from 5–8 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.–noon. 827-7422, www.sacredheartclinic.
