In the end, it's still plate racing
Don't understand why many think racing two-by-two is better than cars running in the big packs, particularly when one of the “selling points” was that it would reduce the chance of the giant wrecks.
Saturday night, there were a total of 30 cars caught up in two accidents in the final seven laps. For what it’s worth, how these restrictor-plate races finish doesn’t seem to change much, just how you race to get to the end.
Winning could change the discussion
David Ragan’s victory certainly will add some more drama around the situation at Roush Fenway Racing.
There has been a lot speculation about Ragan’s future with the organization and whether the sponsor of his No. 6 Ford would return next season.
A win that has tossed him into contention for a Chase spot could well cement both of those issues in the coming weeks.
Ky. track isn't a unknown
It’s been 10 years since a new track debuted in the Sprint Cup Series, so that will make next weekend’s race at Kentucky Speedway somewhat of a wild card. Unlike with the additions of Chicagoland and Kansas in 2001, many drivers have competed at Kentucky previously in NASCAR’s Nationwide and Truck series.
