QUINTON TWP. — Three Bridgeton City residents, two men and a juvenile, have been arrested here in connection with a burglary attempt at a Jericho Road home Thursday afternoon, said Sgt. Stephen Jones from the New Jersey State Police.

Travoise Cannon, 24, of Walnut Street, Adrian Johnson, 22, of Pamphylia Avenue, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Bridgeton were all charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for the alleged break-in here.

No injuries were reported during the failed burglary attempt, according to state police. The three suspects were unable to steal any items from the home, police said.

But police did confirm the suspects could be linked to a rash of approximately 20 kick-in style burglaries around the Salem County area.

The string of break-ins over the past month happened typically in the daytime, between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon, police said.

“Approximately 10 cases have been reported in the Woodstown Barracks coverage area, but other suspected burglaries have occurred in surrounding jurisdictions,” said Jones.

The break-ins have predominantly been kick-in entries, and have occurred when residents are still at home or at work, said police.

The incident Thursday happened in the 300 block of Jericho Road around 11 a.m., police said. Troopers and detectives from the Woodstown state police station responded to the burglary in progress after a nearby neighbor witnessed the three suspects attempting to gain entry into the home.

Upon calling authorities, the neighbor gave a description of the suspects and the vehicle they fled from the scene in, which was an older-model, gold Pontiac.

Jones said a B.O.L.O (be on the lookout) was called out to all local authorities and a short time later the vehicle was observed by a Salem County sheriff’s officer in the parking lot of the Alloway Village Inn.

“The description of the suspects fit those inside the Inn and the three were arrested and brought to the Woodstown Barracks for questioning,” said Jones. “The vehicle was impounded to the New Jersey State Police Troop A headquarters in Buena pending a search warrant.”

Cannon and Johnson were lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility in default of $25,000 bail. The juvenile was released pending a court hearing.

Nets Sign Mario West To 10-Day Contract - SB Nation New York

When the New Jersey Nets waived Quinton Ross, they had already conducted their search for his replacement.

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the team will ink shooting guard Mario West to fill the open roster spot.

The 26 year old Georgia Tech product spent three years with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds in 156 games, six of those starts.

After spending this preseason with the Boston Celtics, West was cut and played for the Maine Red Claws in the D-League.

West averaged 13.7 points and 2.9 assists in 43 games.

Just last week he asked to be released by the team so he could care for a sick family member.

"You only play this game for so long, I would hate to look back and say, 'Man, I wish I would've been there for my family," West told a Maine newspaper.

That was exactly one week ago.  With the NBA calling, West is back on the road away from his family.
