It is designed on the updated Source Engine, but is not built off of Counter-Strike: Source and due out in early 2012 with beta access beginning this fall. It will maintain the traditional de_ and cs_ map types and would not include new game modes. Valve was keen on hearing the input from top CSS players to make CS GO an e-sports title and that is reflected by the game featuring both casual and competitive game modes with a built in match making system and support for dedicated servers. I'm glad to see a new CS coming out, but sad to notice that there is no potential in FPS scene bringing out something totally new. I kinda hate expansions / new versions. I mean, when will we experience something totally new out of CS, Quake, Doom? I was excited about the CPL's game. Spread the creativity! I have three scenarios for this CS:GO: 1) It will replace CS: Source 2) It will unite 1.6 and CS:S scenes as both are bored to present games 3) It will remain as CS:GO and 1.6 will still be the number one CS game and eSports title I used to play 1.6 only and I used to spit on CS:S in the beginning, but I switched and now I love the game. Get over it. CS:GO is going to be something different and I'm probably going to buy it, try it and see how it goes from there. People need to understand that a 11 year-old game won't last for ever. You want big sponsors, big tournaments and big money injected ? Get real, you won't get that with 1.6 anymore. ProMod wasn't made by VALVE at all... lol.
