Thank you for your interest in the fourth annual McKinney Historical Run. The race will be held Saturday, August 8th, 2009 and will have opportunities for both a 5K run and 1mile funrun/walk. Click here to register now. The race will be will be located in the scenic area of historical downtown McKinney, through the residential neighborhoods. It is a great way to enjoy the beauty of McKinney and bring the community together at the end of the summer. Complimentary snacks and great music will be provided to all racers and their families, so anyone who comes is sure to have a good time. Stick around after the race for the award ceremony, and check the website after the race for official times and pictures.

Last year this event attracted well over 200 participants, and this year many more can be expected. Besides just more participants, the McKinney Historical Run will be better this year than ever before. Two examples of improvement for this year are the 1mile funrun/walk and the prize money for the 5k top finishers; in offering these two new features the McKinney Historical Run hopes to attract two whole new groups of runners. As the city of McKinney continues to grow and gain a more intense interest in sport and recreation, events like the McKinney Historical Run are responsive to this growth. The McKinney Historical Run hopes to bring a great close to the summer, and we hope to see you there!
